No longer in production but ahead of its years in 1997 Data Vision's Webwedge pioneered the home internet appliance market place, now archived to a great concept

WebWedge is a fully function Intel Celeron 633+MHz touch screen computer, embedded within the Wedge outline is a super bright SVGA colour 12.1” TFT. The high-speed analogue resistive touch screen is splash proof and capable of signature capture for financial validation. Pop-up on screen keyboards provide fast very efficient keystroke input to collect client data, type e-mails and perform general keyboard duties.

A high capacity hard drive provides ample application space leaving plenty of room for your favourite music files and video clips. Also onboard we have loaded plenty of video and operational memory with an optional upgrade to a massive 128MB of DRAM.

Discreetly hidden beneath the characteristic outline is a powerful 30 Watt volumetric stereo surround sound (class b amplifier) system powerful enough to flood the halls of any home with precision MP3, .wav, CDROM and web radio music. This classification of audio system is found only in the most expensive high quality specialist audio equipment. For hands free voice recognition and operation a high gain microphone is mounted in the wedge’s sharp edge with a second microphone in the telephone handset, cleverly embedded within the phone handset is a CCD barcode scanner operated by a button on the underside.

Any domestic barcode can be scanned and recognised for simple on-line web shopping. Create electronic shopping lists easily by scanning barcodes on products within your home. Then place this order directly with your local shop for doorstep delivery. Pay for goods and services or have security access privileged by swiping your credit/ debit card through the onboard card reader.

Connectivity to the Internet directly via USB 56K modem through your standard phone line. Or recommended ISDN (through optional router) and/or ADSL (DSL through USB or Ethernet port) telephone lines are used for high-speed low cost connectivity to the Internet.
